Above seasonal temperatures expected well into next week.Where: Fraser Valley, Metro Vancouver.When: Now through next week.Remarks: A building ridge of high pressure over the region is beginning to usher in above seasonal temperatures. Daytime high temperatures will reach into the upper 20's to low 30's, and overnight lows in the mid to upper teens. Relatively cooler temperatures can be expected nearer the water.A great deal of uncertainty about how long this hot stretch will persist, and it is possible that heat warnings may be required.In the meantime:Monitor local public forecasts and weather alerts for updates.Access Environment and Climate Change weather forecasts via the WeatherCAN app.Watch for the effects of heat illness: heavy sweating, rash, cramps, fainting,high body temperature and the worsening of some health conditions.Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.Seek a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower orbath, or air-conditioned spot like a public building.Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
